
About Roly
Roly Smyth is a talented and avid performer and has
a history of playing,
singing and writing songs. He has
studied recording and production and
both piano and
guitar to a high level, earning accreditation from the
Royal
Irish Academy of Music (RIAM), the Associated
Board of the Royal Schools
of Music (ABRSM) and
STC, aside from his degree.
He holds a HDIP in Music and Education conferred from GCD.
Roly's career to date has seen him in a high profile pop band,
playing and recording
original music in bands, exposure
on RTÉ and radio to wedding ceremonies
and receptions,
residencies in piano bars and playing charity functions.
He
welcomes the variety and enjoys all facets and
aspects of music.
In Roly's capacity as a guitarist, he is one of The Hitmen Trio, highly acclaimed acoustic
Band who recently played for 20,000 people for Katy Taylors homecoming.
They perform with a refreshing blend of acoustic guitars,
percussion and beautifully
arranged vocal
harmonies.
Roly has eclectic taste and finds varied outlets for his
musical needs. He is
currently involving himself in daytime
teaching and is always studying to further
himself in the
area which he loves. Roly hails from Kildare and currently
resides
in Dublin. He loves most music genres, from Pink
Floyd and Radiohead to
swing,
jazz and classical.
He currently performs weekly in The porterhouse, Temple bar,
with his band
and at weddings, functions and events throughout Ireland.
